Sunday 5th October is a very important day.

At Great St. Mary's church, we will be holding our `Back to Church Sunday' event, which is part of a nationwide initiative being embraced by churches all over the country this autumn. And we'd like to invite you to be a part of it.

Who is Back to Church Sunday for?

Back to Church Sunday is for everyone. It is especially for people who may have attended church in the past, but for a variety of perfectly natural reasons have not been able to attend more recently (hence the name `Back to Church Sunday'!). However, it is also the perfect opportunity for anyone who has not been to church before to come and try it!

What can I expect?

You will be very welcome at any of our services, especially at our 9.30am service, when we will be celebrating Harvest and thanking God for his generous gifts. As it is also a Family service, there will be plenty going on for people of all ages. Or there is our special Harvest service of hymns and readings at 6.00 pm which children from the local schools join in. It's usually pretty full but you will be very welcome.

Why should I come?

Coming to church opens up all sorts of exciting possibilities: opportunities to meet new people, chance to get involved in new activities, and above all, explore and develop your own personal relationship with God. Perhaps you have previously thought about coming to church, but haven't yet managed to come through the door. Do you ever walk through the churchyard and wonder?

You are very important to us. You are important to us, because you are important to God. If God is prompting you, then please do come to find out more. We would love to meet you on Sunday 5th October, or, if that is not a good date for you, do come along to any of our services at any time (see back page for details) .You can be assured of a very warm welcome.
